EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) - nWow! Counselling & Coaching
What is EFT?
EFT – an acronym for Emotional Freedom Techniques – is a relatively recent development in the field of Energy Psychology. EFT is a healing approach that can get results when nothing else helps.
“EFT is at the forefront of the new healing movement.”
Candace Pert, PhD. Author of Molecules of Emotion
“EFT is a simple, powerful process that can profoundly influence
gene activity, health and behavior.” Bruce Lipton, PhD
The underlying philosophy of EFT is that negative emotions are a disruption in the body’s energy system. According to this approach, if emotional issues are left untreated for a long time then they can lead to disease and illness.
Sometimes referred to as a psychological version of acupuncture, EFT balances the energy flow in our body’s energy pathways (meridians). If the energy flow in our meridians is disrupted, we may notice a decline in our health and emotional balance.
By stimulating the energy flow in the meridians by tapping certain acupressure points, we can rebalance the system – this can have the effect that emotional issues are healed – and related physical pains or illnesses may also be positively affected, sometimes disappearing completely.
We have been incorporating EFT in our work with topics such as:
- Anger
- Trauma
- Addictions
- Pain
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Stress
- Emotional overwhelm
